The psp xmb is an abbreviation for Playstation portable Xross Media Bar. The on screen home menu of the psp is the main screen of the psp xmb. This is also the beginning place for many psp system functions. The psp xmb has several options like the basic operations, settings icons, photo icons, music icons, video icons, game icons and network icons.
Basic operations of psp xmb menu
The icons in this home menu are spread horizontally through the screen and are called categories. Using the directional buttons, it can be scrolled through the category icons. After a particular category is selected, the items that are available would be displayed vertically below and above the category icon. For selection of a particular item, the cross button has to be pressed.
Settings icons of the psp xmb menu
The network update is used to access the updates regarding the psp system software. The USB connection is used for connection to a computer using a USB cable. The video settings comprise of settings for Universal Media Disc video menu language, subtitle language and audio language. The photo settings is used to adjust the speed of slideshow. The system settings comprises of settings for the system language and nickname and offers an option for the format memory stick duo media. The theme settings is used to modify the background color and exhibit an image as a wallpaper. The Date and time settings is used to adjust the date and time and the daylight saving time. The Power Save settings consists of settings to turn off the backlight automatically and start the sleep mode of the psp. Sound settings are used to set automatic volume limiter system and key tone. Security settings are meant to alter the password and the level setting regarding the parental control feature. The RSS channel setting decides the number of items to be saved from an RSS channel. The Network settings are used to connect to a wireless LAN.
